More News from Chatel November 13th, 2009
The big news this week is that the private road up to our chalet has finally been resurfaced. We now have a lovely smooth tarmac road all the way to the chalet. It’s taken a couple of years of rather slow discussions between all the residents on the road and the contractors to finally all agree on costs and splitting of costs.
So hopefully with a new surface and better drainage it might be a little less icy during the winter.
The weather has continued to stay cold and we’ve had several little snow falls in the village, surely a good sign of another cracking winter to come !
I’m sure Woody, the new American owner of the Abondance ski area will be hoping so. He recently bought the ski station which has been closed for the last 2 years and is reportedly planning to use it for testing his state of the art snow cannons which work at warmer temperatures then any other machine currently available.

Huge 25% Discount for Last Couple of Weeks February 28th, 2009
We’ve just a couple of spare weeks left now in March and I’m offering them with a credit crunching 25% discount. The snow conditions are superb this season and you don’t want to miss out on one of the best European ski seasons for over a decade.
Our chefs this year are superb, we’ve had numerous glowing reports of their culinery magic. It’s almost like an episode of ‘MasterChef’ every night ! Come and treat yourself.
New for the coming season September 28th, 2008
Well the first thing you’ll notice when travelling to Chatel next ski season, although possibly the least exciting change, is that Thonon now has a new bypass. This should cut at least 10 minutes from the Geneva transfer time, making for about 75-80 mins drive from the airport to arriving in the chalet.
We are excited to announce that both chalets will have qualified and experienced chefs cooking in them next season, this should ensure we continue providing our guests with a gastronomic treat each evening !
The ‘Crosets 2’ ski lift, which goes from Les Crosets towards the Champery cable car has been upgraded this summer. Out with the old travelator style 4 seater and in with a new shiny high speed 6 seater.
Autumn’s setting it September 6th, 2007
Hope you all had a good summer, it’s been a pretty wet over here, but a fair amount of sun mixed in too. The village has been full of very muddy mountain bikers for the last few months.
As for next season we’re very pleased to announce we’ll be operating two catered chalets, Chalet Fleur D’Oranger has been fully refurbished this summer and will compliment Chalet Les Trois Canards in comfort and service. Both boasting real log fires and outdoor jacuzzis.
There are no major developements to report in the Portes du Soleil this summer, but last seasons upgrades worked very well. The upgraded Les Combes lift give the pistes from the top of Linga towards Pre La Joux a welcome facelift, and the upgrade to the Chaux Fleurie chair from Les Lindarets to Chatel along with the piste overhaul & new snow cannon totally removed the old bottleneck making the pistes a lot more fun especially in poor snow conditions.
The long talked about ski link from Super-Chatel to Linga looks all set to go ahead next summer, which would allow people to ski all the way back to Chatel at the end of the day.
We’re starting to get booked up for next season especailly now everyones returning from their summer holidays, so its time to get organised and book your ski trip too.
That’s it for this ski season April 17th, 2007
Well the last guests have left now, and we have moved back into the chalet. It’s been an excellent first season, despite the lack of snow early on it came good in the end and there’s still snow around even though its roasting hot now.
We were totally sold out this year and have already sold quite a few weeks of next season.
We’ve got a busy few months now working on landscaping around the chalet, and planting the borders up.
Have a good summer and keep checking back to see how we’re getting along.
 Thanks,
Adam & Kei-Lu
Its lovely and warm here ! January 15th, 2007
We’re into our 5th week of guests now and everything seems to be running pretty smoothly. Everyone has loved staying in the chalet, fluffy towels are still very fluffy and the jacuzzi is always a hit. It’s just a shame Europe seems be having a slow start to the ski season snowwise, everyones waiting for that big Arctic Northernly to sweep down and dump for a week !  At the minute its best to head up high where the snow is pretty good, but the village is looking more like Summer than mid Winter. Keep your fingers crossed, maybe in a few days.
And we’re off ! December 19th, 2006
After a very hard week of non-stop work we finished the chalet in time for the first guests who arrived last Saturday. All the curtains that we were still putting up at midnight the day before the guests arrived are still in place and everyone is very pleased with the chalet.
It’s great to see the results of all the months of hard work that we have put in to get the business up and running, now just a few more months of hard work ensuring everyone has their best ski holiday for years.
The only bit of bad news is we’re now totally full for the whole season, obviously not bad news if you’ve booked already but for anyone else reading this remember to bookmark our site and get in quick next year !

Mission Accomplished November 17th, 2006
Well pretty much… We had a very productive 12 days in Chatel, lots of hard work mainly on the exterior decking area around the Jacuzzi and access around the Chalet. All work which had to be finished before the weather turns, and apart from a couple of small details its all done now.
As for the interior, we didn’t have much time left over but everything has been delivered now and fits in the spaces we had hoped it would. When we go out in December it’ll be time to concentrate on setting the place out and making it ready our guests.
